Christening Teddy Bears

Christening Teddy Bears
The arrival of a new baby is often a cause of celebration uniting family and friends in the joy of welcoming new life and optimism into the world. Everyone is always delighted to meet the new family member and will be willing to travel from far flung places when they receive the Christening invitation. This then leads to the decision of choosing an appropriate gift for the child, one that will last long enough for the child to appreciate and enjoy, as well as one that would remind you of their childhood when they have grown up and left home. Christening teddy bears would certainly ensure that the new baby in the family would have a lovely toy to cuddle and would mark the special occasion forever.
Tradition
Christenings can be steeped in tradition as sometimes families can have a special Christening gown that is passed down through generations of the same family. You may even decide to start the tradition for the first time with your own family, selecting a Christening dress or gown that would be used for years to come. You may even decide to start the tradition of giving Christening teddy bears to new members of the family so that they will always be able to remember their special day. The beautiful white gown of course will be stored carefully until the next new family member arrives.
Royalty
Prince George, the newest member of the Royal Family, was christened in a replica gown of one worn by Queen Victoria's eldest daughter showing that the royal family too are revisiting old traditions. The young princes, like all christened babies, is lucky to have a large selection of God parents to look out for him and watch him grow up. It also makes you wonder what other traditions they have restarted or indeed begun. Maybe Prince George snuggles up to his own personalised christening teddy bear in his royal cot.
History
Christenings and baptisms haven't always been a pristine and fanciful event in the past, they normally consisted of mainly adults who had decided that they wanted to be baptised being submerged in a river with the ceremony being conducted by a holy man. May be one of the most famous person to conduct baptisms was John the Baptist who was famous for being Jesus' cousin and also baptising Jesus in exactly the same way as other believers were baptised. These days we tend to rely on the blessed water in a font placed at the entrance to the church to welcome the new child to the church.
Your Celebration
However you and your family decide to celebrate the christening of your new baby, you can be sure that everyone will welcome the little bundle with joy and shower them with many gifts. A christening teddy bear maybe one of the gifts that will have a special place in you and your child's heart and will continuously bring joy to your little one and of course to you when your baby has all grown up and flown the nest.
