A Few Great Tourist Locations In New York City

If you are visiting New York City, whether for the first time or the fifth, you will soon get a sense that no matter how much time you spend in the Big Apple, you'll never see it all. Part of the charm of the city is just how massive it is and how much variety you will find, but at the same time this size and girth of options can also make it a little hard to figure out the best that the city has to offer.

When it comes to exciting landmarks and tourist locations, here are just a few that are certainly worth your time while you are in the city:

Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is the second tallest building in the world and provides an excellent vantage point when you want to get an incredible view of the city around you. Because of how much of an iconic landmark this is, it can be quite difficult to get in and see the views though.

Rockefeller Center
Located in Midtown, the Rockefeller Center is known for many things, including its Observation Deck, Radio City Music Hall, its Christmas Tree display and the ice skating rink. If you are looking for excellent shopping and dining choices, there are quite a few to be found in and near the center.

The Museum Of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art was the first museum ever to be dedicated entirely to contemporary works of art when it was founded in 1929. This museum has a diverse array of paintings, film and architecture for both young and old alike.
Ellis Island Immigration Museum
This unique museum gives interactive exhibits, tours and movies that show the true challenges that many immigrants face when coming to America in pursuit of a better life. The history of the museum is certainly exciting but even the trip by ferry through the harbor makes this location worth a visit.

Central Park
Central Park offers boat rides, picnic area and overall just a wonderful, relaxing break from the bustle of the very busy city.
Statue Of Liberty
This statue was once a gift from the French, in honor of our strong friendship and the pursuit of liberty for both nations. One of the most iconic landmarks in all of New York, if not the entire US, it is certainly a major stopping point in any sightseeing adventure.

Grand Central Terminal

Whether you are using it to visit different parts of the city or simply want to see this impressive transportation hub, GCT has been open since 1913 and offers not only a means to get around New York but also has great shopping and dining experiences within.
American Museum Of Natural History
Opened first in 1869, this museum has a wonderful selection of exhibits, both permanent and temporary, that give a true look at the history of our planet, and not just humans as a species. There are tons of exhibits that appeal to all ages, including children.
As you can see, from shopping to dining and museum-going, there are tons of diverse activities in New York- this list hasn't truly begun to even hit the surface.
